I'm doing a 5k in May in Minnesota. What should I wear that day when I run. It might be cold or raining? I'm just not sure how to dress.

Any reason why you'd have to decide right now? I would wait until the last-minute weather forecast. If it's something you have to pack for, bring both shorts and capris, long- and short-sleeved shirts, and maybe a light rain jacket or vest if you usually wear one in the rain. I would also bring a billed cap, which are great for both sun shade and rain protection. Then decide according to the weather when you wake up that morning.

And don't wear anything new on race day--you don't want wardrobe malfunctions of any kind!

I'm guessing you have not done any training in cold or rain? Training would have been a good time to try out different outfits to find out what is warm enough, what is too warm, what chafes your legs, etc.

At this point, it's a bit of a guess.

I over pack, because I'm like that, but I like having options the morning of in case the extended forcast is ummm wrong.

Advice from my hubs.... "Always dress so your a little chilly at start, or you'll be to hot during the race."
