Need some advice for beginning exercise

Hi all, I'm new to this site and looking to start exercising. I'm looking for something that is not a lot of jumping as I live in a second floor apartment. I've battled with my weight for a few years now. I've tried P90X a couple of times, but never finished it due to injury etc. At the shape I'm in now, trying P90X would be unrealistic. I need to start slow and basic and work up to that. That can be my long term goal. Short term - get off the couch and be able to look down and see my feet! I'm trying a 100 push up for 7 day challenge starting tomorrow. Any tips, advice, recommendations, support etc. is appreciated!
