I've got a terrible headache, runny nose, sneezing, coughing and just yucky. Felt this way for 2 days now. I ahve run club tonight and just not sure if it's allergies or a cold.

I've made myself really sick before by pusing myself and working out when I was sick and I ended up getting REALLY sick for two weeks. I jsut hate not working out. I just don't know what to do.

I would rest - if it was just a scratchy throat and a little runny nose, then I would run. But with all the other symptoms, I think you should rest!

make yourself a pitcher of tea with as much citrus juice in it as possible. it has so much in it it's like drinking lemonade.
add some honey or other sweetener if you want. some studies say honey is a natural cough suppressant.
if nothing else it will help you hydrate and breathe a bit better
drink as much of that as you can, and keep drinking.
it would be a good idea to make some soup now before you feel worse, if you feel up to it.
if not a good easy food to make is baked sweet potatoes, no work involved, just bake 1 hour.

with the exercise try to take it easy with cardio, you could maybe do some body weight exercises, yoga would prob. be a good idea if you're into that

Yea, run club may be too much and I really have to push myself to keep up. Thank you!!!
  • Only light to moderate exercise if you are sick. Your immune system is already being tasked. If you have worked out before when sick and have gotten far worse then it's probably a good idea to skip the work out.

If you have a fever, never work out. Elevating your heart rate when you have a fever can lead to permanent heart damage.
