It is water weight that you are losing at first. It will definitely slow down, but don't get demotivated. You will start burning fat. I lost 6kg in my first week as well.

Yeah my pt told me that too thats kool thanx for your info....and good luck to you.
  • Lost ten entire pounds in my first week...and then one the next...and then nothing the third. Yeah, it can be a real bummer and the majority of that first big loss is water which we're often storing from too much sodium in our diets before the healthy-eating kicks in. So suddenly you're cutting that sodium down and your body is shocked by it and drops it's water weight. Stick at it. =]

Yeah the first 1 week i dropped about 4kilo's then it went back up by again by a a few kilos as i got into a rhythm, but has since been dropping around 1 kilo a week which seems to be safe., thats undercutting by about 1000 cals a day and doing 60mins of gyming 6 days a week for around 4800 calories. sometimes eating exercise cals usually not eating most of em.

Losing weight, losing bulk in the hips and midsection and not feeling deprived. Can't ask for more without risking possible muscle loss and or nutrient deficiency

It's normal to lose a lot during your first week as it's water weight coming off.

After that a healthy rate of loss to aim for is 1kg (2 lbs) per week if you are obese or very over weight, 0.5kg (1lb) per week if moderately over weight, and 0.25kg (0.5 lb per week) if you have less than 10 lbs to lose.

If you are losing quicker than this it might be worth increasing your calorie intake to stabilise the loss.
