I just started a boot camp class. I have not been doing any exercise except walking. so, I did my first class on Monday and I am so sore. I have another class tonight. Is there any advice anyone can give as to what to do about my aching butt, legs, and stomach? I don't know if to take hot showers or use cold packs or if I should walk on the days I don't do boot camp. I literally have jell-o legs LOL

It's your body reacting to something new. Did you strentch? I'd definitely suggest doing some gentle yoga or stretching. As long as it soreness and not injury, you'll be fine for tonight, although it's likely gonna hurt some more.0

I've been doing boot camp twice a week since January and it has made SUCH a difference in my strength and endurance. I can do things now (like a real, man-style pushup--all the way down!!) that I couldn't do at all just a few short months ago.
My advice is to stretch, drink a TON of water, and MOST importantly -- MOVE your body the day after class. Take a really brisk walk, or swim, or something... When we're sore, we all like to just stay still and wait for it to pass, but you'll heal quicker if you get moving.
Good luck!0 -
