Really confused about my workout

Hey MFP Family,
I am slightly confused about my exercise routine. I have been trying to switch it up and I have noticed this: When I am on the treadmill doing intervals (walk one minute...sprint as fast as I can 1 minute) I feel as though I am working hard and I burn the expected calories (per my Bodybugg). When I do interval hill training on the treadmill (walk on a 15% incline for one minute...go down to 10%...for one minute...then back up to 15%)....it kills me! I am huffing...puffing...maximum effort. However, my calorie burn is not as much as when I am walking/sprinting?? I would think as hard as I feel I am working on the hill training I would burn more. There is no difference in time...each session is 35 minutes.
So...sometimes I am not sure which to do....go for walk/run workout and get maximum burn....or do the hill intervals where I feel I am working harder...but the calorie burn is less. For the record, my goal is to lose weight and build endurance. I am starting to lean towards walking/running because I want the maximum calorie burn.
