I'd like to hear about your plateaus

When I started on my "deal" in January it really was just a mental decision, I was going to change. My goal was to lose about two pounds per week for twenty weeks or so and them readjust to a less regimented routine and hopefully in 14 to 16 months lose 100+ pounds.
It went really well, better than planned. I was thinking, all these plateauing stories are bunk. I thought, people change what they are doing and just don't realize it. I believed that if I ate like a man that weighed 185 lbs, I would steadily lose weight each week and one day reach my goal.
Then I hit a wall. Stuck for three weeks! Since then I've talk to people who have had months of "stuck". I'd like to hear your story!

I've been at this since June 2012 and have had two plateaus. The first one was in August - I was just stuck at the same weight for three or four weeks. I kicked my workouts up a notch and made sure to get enough calories and started losing weight again. I am currently in my second plateau and it does not have a happy ending yet! Although, it is not strictly a plateau, I have lost a grand total of 6 pounds in three months. My weight loss is now at a snail's pace. I was losing 1 pound per week before. I have 20 pounds more to lose - so it's not like I'm THAT close to my goal that the weight loss should slow down that much. I tried increasing my calories by 100 in March. Not sure what tweak I'm going to make in April... Although. slow weight loss isn't so bad. At least I don't have to buy new clothes as often!0

I've been losing and gaining weight for years, and I have never gotten under 178 pounds >:I
Ever.
I have to blame that on the dreaded calorie creep though. After awhile I got so used to counting calories that i'd take little bites of low calorie things and not log it, but 20 bites of jelly bean adds up, lol.
Changing things up and fixing my mindset, being more accountable, those things helped a lot :]0 -
I have been on a plateau for about 2 weeks now, without any weight loss. Now the weather is getting better around here, I am planning to kick up the excerise a bit to see if that will get thing moving. I'll let you know if that works. I hope your plateau does not last very long.0

Just saw your ticker...100 lbs lost? Congrats! You look great from your pic. I'm down almost 30..I keep fluctuating between 27-30 the past 2 months. Hence, I'm plateauing. The funny thing is I lost most of the weight between Aug-12-Dec-12 with diet and NO exercise. Now I'm working out 4-5 x's per week and doing at least an hour or cardio with calistentics like push ups, crunches, lunges, planks, etc. Nothing!! So frustrating. Any tips?
PS: I am not close to my goal weight either. I still have about 68 more lbs to go.0 -
**sorry...left my computer to check on dinner and my 4 year old decided to respond to your post.0

I hit one plataeu. My fix was eating more....I felt great, but just was not losing. I was only eating 1200-1300 cals a day and I was not eating exercise calories back. I started eating 300 more per day and the weight started to come off again. But I am a 5'4" female and i weigh 130lbs right now. I hit my plataeu when i got to about 128.....increasing helped me get down to 122. hope this helps.0

I have a friend on MFP who had a three month flat spot. And I agree, when you're really trying and no payback, it does sux!0
