NSV- I can actually run!

So I have never been able to run. In fact I am terrible at it. In high school I would avoid running like it was the plague. I swear I was always "sick" when I had to run the mile in gym class. Recently I decided that I wanted to give it a try and I have downloaded the Couch to 5K app on my phone. It turns out that I can actually do the running intervals and not breathing too hard/stopping because I can't do it.
I have found that I dislike using the treadmil and will be doing all of my running outside, in the gorgeous weather. Just thought I would share this accomplishment with everyone.

Awesome!!! I used to be the same way. Did C25K in February of 2012 and have been running ever since.
My goal at the time was just to do a 5K without stopping. Well, when that was done I decided I had to do more. So did my 1st half marathon the end of October 2012. I did realize that was enough though. Towards the end of training for that I realized I do not want to try any full marathons and will probably limit to maybe 1 half marathon a year. for me when it comes time to do the long training runs it just takes to much time out of one of my weekend days. I don't run for speed, I run to finish so my long runs, 10 to 13 miles, take on average 2 hours or more out of the day. In some cases more if you factor in stretching and recovery time. Last year when training for the half marathon in the fall there were some Saturday's that were just plain shot because I didn't want to do anything else the rest of the day.
Doing a 10 mile race next weekend!!!0 -
