Lower Sugar & lower sodium options?

I've been doing well on MFP, but I've noticed that I have two diet areas I could use some help with.
My sugar "goal" is around 30g per day. I seem to almost knock this out with two pieces of fruit - and have been well exceeding my "recommendation" daily when considering everything else I'm eating. I don't have any medical issues that would necessitate being on a low sugar diet (though obviously I'm trying to cut my intake considerably). That said - does anyone have any suggestions for lower sugar foods that I can start to sub in to help me at least get closer to my recommendation?
Also - any suggestions for cutting sodium intake? Obviously, the fresher foods, the better... but I'd love to hear what others are doing to cut back.
Thanks!

I always us Morton's Lite Salt. 1/2 the sodium. 1/2 potassium which help with water weight. And I have almost given up processed foods.0

sodium is a big thing for me too... I have found the fresher the food, those are the days I stay within or under that range. More veggies and fruits. Avoid the canned ones, especially where veggies are concerned because they have more sodium. Processed food has been the hardest thing to let up but I am getting there...0

I ignore the sugar intake...all mine comes from fruit mainly so I don't even pay attention to it any more. Unless you have a medical reason to avoid it then I would not worry about it if the intake is coming from fruit. I help control added sugar content I buy every thing sugar free and add my own sweetner if needed.
As for salt I try to do everything salt free and again add my own. That way I know I am controling the sodium intake (for the most part at least).0 -
Eat 85% chocolate if you have cravings, its low on sugar and its good for you.0
