Toning/defining workout routine needed...

My head is spinning with the 15,000 workout routines online.

I need an easy to follow and EASY TO REMEMBER routine to tone up at the gym.

Not a DVD to workout to...

I don't need to bulk up...I lost over 40 lbs. and want to tone up and be defined.

Any help would be appreciated.

And me asking for this help isn't me being lazy and not researching...I've researched...and doing it alone is confusing.

I wanna see what people come up with here. Just need a lil help.

Thanks so much!!!

stick to the big six. its simple and quick and will get you as toned as you need to be.

    5-10 minute warm-up walk
    Barbell Squats 5x5
    Bench Press 5x5
    Barbell Lunges 5x5
    Barbell Overhead Press 5x5
    Deadlifts 5x5
    Barbell Rows 5x5

These are the big six to get you "toned". Eat right and lift and you will get where you want to be. This workout takes less than 45minutes

"Toning up" and being "defined" come from fat loss. So, if you've lost a lot of fat and don't have much definition, you may need to build some muscle. If you think you already have a decent muscle base but can't see definition, you likely need to lose more fat. Find a good program that you like. I'm really enjoying the 5x5 program (Madcow) that i'm doing now. Bodybuilding.com has one posted in the forums called the All Pro beginner routine that's good, too. So, I'd suggest eating at maintenance and lifting heavy. Do some dedicated core work along with it. Pilates core workouts are great, as are the work outs in the BeFit YouTube channel's 30 day 6 pack series. You will not get bulky just from lifting heavy. You'll have to eat at a surplus to really see big gains.
