do you go through phases?

for the last couple weeks i've felt like i finally "get it." i'm understanding the whole diet thing after years of trying, and losing actual weight and inches for the first time ever. eating healthy and working out felt like something i WANTED to do and i was feeling so relieved by that.

now the last few days i've felt like all i want to do is eat!!! it's been such a struggle and feeling like a chore to eat healthy. so my question is, do you guys feel this way? do you think we'll always go through the phases of dieting like that or is there such a thing as always having the desire to make healthy choices?

curious to hear others' opinions :)

Of course! I think everyone either does, has, or will eventually. I let myself have a treat every day. Yep, every single day! I recently got an Easter basket full of candy, so I've been taking some out of there. ONE piece a day (and sadly, my entire chocolate bunny doesn't count as one piece  ) Today it was 2oz of my bunny though...Russell Stover...so good! Anyway, we all do go through that, and it helps if I don't think of it as a diet, because it's not. You're changing how you eat forever. I find giving in to temptation and having a little treat gives you something to look forward to at the end of the day. A lot of people will agree with me, but it's working for me and helps stave off other cravings throughout the day knowing I can have a treat at the end of the day (I do keep it relatively low-cal though. Today's chocolate was a delicious exception!)

Don't worry though, it'll get easier!

I think our mind set (AKA Willpower) waxes and wanes. Also, if the reason you are dieting is some one else's or a solid valid reason of your own. Motivation points change as life changes. THere are also times in your life when other things will be more important to attend to.

Just refocus, and renew you reasons and start back. Be honest with yourself and don' t beat your self up too much for breaks, and look fpr changes in other areas than the scale. Good luck!
