Help!!!! Plateau!!!

Hey , Ive stated this 1200 calorie diet on January 4th of this year. I eat 1200 calories everyday sometimes less. I work out around 4 times a week. When I started I was 190. Now im down to 168.8 and am happy don't get me wrong, but now i'm just stuck at this 168.8 for almost 3 weeks and its driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!!! What can I do to get past this??? Anyone????

I was stuck at a plateau for over a month! I feel your pain! I honestly had to just take a break from weighing myself and eat consistently. I try to get maximum protein and healthy fiber-rich carbs and avoid sugar and starches. I exercise 5 or 6 days per week but nothing too crazy. I have been keeping my 1200 calorie goal and the other day, I stepped on the scale after not weighing for a week and I had lost 1.6 lbs from my plateau! Then 2 days later, weighed again and I was down another 3.2 lbs. It just takes time for your body to realize that you don't need to store that fat anymore and it's ok to lose it. Just don't stop, be consistent, and be PATIENT! Good luck!0

I've been in a plaueau for 5 months. I quit logging my food for a while. (Needed a break) Haven't lost or gained anything? I exercise every day. Go to gym, weights every day, cardio every other, and play tennis almost every day. Eventually I'll start losing again. I have like 20 lbs to go. I do have alot of muscle so may never reach my "goal" weight.
My body is just resisting losing these last few pounds. I will either lose them or replace them with muscle. I'm a girl and I ain't afraid of muscle.0 -
I just recently broke my 8 1/2 week plateau. It wasn't easy. I had to make some adjustments to my food intake & workouts, mostly food intake. I wasn't eating enough as I thought I needed & increased my protein & fiber. When I changed it up, I started to lose again. I will say... the entire 8 1/2 weeks, I didn't give up. No throwing in the towel. It takes a lot of patience and dedication to get out if it, but it is possible.
I read this blog by a MFP buddy of mine about eating back my workout calories, that's where I found the help I so needed to finally break my long plateau.

Wow! Congratulations on your achievements to date. You must be extremely happy with the way that the changes to your lifestyle are reflected not only on the scales but I'll bet also in your attitude not to mention the old waist measurement. Well done! You're a great role model. I've found in the past that when I've hit a plateau I've needed to shake it up a bit by looking at my diet and exercise. I think when we focus on improving our health, we can get into a bit of a rut - don't get me wrong, it's absolutely a positive rut but our bodies can get used to a routine pretty easily and our muscles and metabolism seem to adjust to the new 'normal'. So, for example, with your gym sessions, maybe swap a cardio session for a weight session or vice versa. Perhaps add more protein to your breakfast - avocado on spelt toast, poached egg with smoked salmon, almonds with blueberries and yoghurt. Have a look at any calories that may be creeping in that you aren't really aware of - I wasn't aware of my 'white coffee with one' habit and when I changed this to 'skim milk latte', it did make a difference. Whatever you do, keep going as it's obvious that you are on the right track.0

This is exactly where I am! Five pounds from my goal weight and I cannot get the scale to move!!! I'm really hoping just sticking with it works!!!0

Check out something called Intermittent Fasting, or IF.
It seems to work for a lot of people when they experience a plateau.
