I just made the most yummy chicken sandwich - okay, maybe not MOST, but it hit the spot!!!! I did:

- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- 5 small strips of frozen/microwaved chicken
- 3 slices cucumber
- 3 slices roma tomato
- 1 strip of iceburg lettuce
- 1 tbsp. mustard, both slices (1 tbsp total)

wow, that's alot of sodium for one sandwich... Must be the chicken, was it precooked processed stuff??

Yep. :\ Top two sodium contributors: the bread (didn't check the label as thoroughly as I should have) and the chicken. I'm okay on sodium for the whole day - I did my whole day in advance - and I'm under my daily recommended.

I have a dumb question. What's the relation between sodium and weight loss?
I tend to go over on my sodium a lot. It's hard to me to keep that down and I don't get why.
  • Quite simple, really. Too much sodium (salt) causes water retention. Water retention = weight gain. Drink plenty of water to flush the sodium from your system.

Sounds delicious...although I don't like mustard so I'll have to switch it out.

As for the sodium, as long as you are under the total recommended for the day, I think it's okay to splurge on a meal!
