OK so can I tell you how much it annoys me that men can drop weight no problem (rephrase,.MOST men) and women usually struggle their entire life. You know that commercial where the animated woman is talking and her husband is standing next to her. They cut out junk food - he shrinks and she doesn't. Ya welcome to my life!!!!
So what got me here: pasta, breads, eating dominoes bread bowls (oh YUM), an occasional fried dough, nachos...that is prob about it. Everything else I eat is generally pretty healthy.
My husband - same but add in donuts every AM on the way to work.
I cut out all of the above: still have to cut more and have to get my booty moving...still the scale & measuring tape fights me
He cuts out donuts..yes people JUST donuts and loses 18 pounds in a month...seriously?!?! SMH

~Want to add before anyone goes all crazy on me LOL...just a silly vent I know in reality...,first he has a lot more to lose than I do...I have always eaten a pretty balanced diet except the occasional splurges..he has not... These are in fact why he can lose faster than I for now But for the moment...it drives me batty!!!!

It is easier for them and that sucks, but it's something that all of us ladies have to deal with. Hormones and stuff, y'know.
Like, for example, I'm a fan of this GORGEOUS trans woman and before she began her transition, she was so skinny and had the "perfect body" blah blah blah, but once she started taking hormones she said that her body "got all soft". Her eating/exercise habits stayed the same, but she just put on weight. Of course, she's still gorgeous -- more gorgeous than ever, really, but it just shows that our lady bodies like to hang on to every last bit of softness and it can be totally frustrating!0 -
Meh, my wife loses faster than me and is in incredible shape. If it's not working then fix what you're doing.0

My goal is not only to lose weight (so even when the scale doesn't move I do not freak out) but also to be genuinely healthy. So I do the best i can day by day..but the infamous belly fat needs to pack it's bags! When I see my husband drop weight just by removing one item off his food diary..I want to kick him haha0 -
Yes, they can lose easier due to muscle mass / metabolism / hormones etc.. BUT we have boobs.

Just had to say this if fascinating to me! What a prime example of how the female and male bodies work differently based just on hormone influence!
And yeah, same thing in my household. My Hubs gave up beer, became a tiny bit more active and lost 30 pounds in no time. Meanwhile it took me a whole year to lose that amount of weight!0 -

Have to call bull**** on this. I know that some women know how to train and bust their *kitten* in and out of the gym, but for the 99% their "workouts" are beyond rubbish and consist of maybe 30 minutes walking or sitting on a machine in a gym while messing on their phones.0

my husband is different lol. He does not lose weight easily, admittedly he's not trying very hard but he doesn't lose that easily. I lost weight a lot faster than him, but I know a lot of men that lose very quickly0

Correction: It is likely eating TOO MUCH of all of those things (and that includes healthy food) that got you here. You don't have to cut out things you love to lose weight. Eat a bread bowl if it fits in your calories.0

I think you are looking at it backwards OP. you are cutting everything out of your diet.
Start over from scratch and figure out what can fit into your daily calorie/macro goals. I don't cut anything out, its a recipe for failure.

Although, I have not struggled with my weight. I do have to work a little bit harder for visible muscle definition than my husband. We both have visible muscle definition. I lift weights 3-4 times a week and I'm a dancer. He does not lift weights. He rides his bike and lifts things just as a part of life. He has very solid, firm, and defined muscles, anyway. It doesn't bother me, though. I'm perfectly happy. I have nothing to complain about.0 -

I lost 15 lbs in a month eating about 2600 calories a day...
I'm eating 3400 or so everyday now (including about 600 cals of chocolate everyday) and still losing.0 -

Hubby goes to doctor. Nurse weighs him and tells him he lost 15lbs since last year and asked him what he's been doing. He tells her "my wife's on a diet." He didnt really do anything different. No extra activity. He eats whatever he wants. *deep sigh*0

LMAO - I do not cut everything out however over 1000 calories for a meal in itself is ridiculous diet or no diet Everyone told me to diet I have to cut out or down my coffee....if you look at my food diary you will see CLEARLY I did not;. That is my ONE staple I refuse to give up. I do not use ff milk I use cream because that is what I like. I refuse to "diet" but rather change my way of living and sorry but coffee is my way of living! I do not "need" nor "crave" bread bowls I just like them but I like fried dough more haha...I WILL incorporate the fried dough every once in awhile because I know I can...diet or not. Done it before so i know I can enjoy it and not regret it.
What worked for me before will not necessarily work for me now. I decide daily..."is it worth the calories /; fat / carbs" if not I choose something better that is. This has to be my life choice in order to maintain later. Food was NOT meant for enjoyment...it was meant to fuel you to live..period.
Main key of course is moderation with anything (healthy or not) however...it was not like I was eating the crap daily before unlike my husband who did and still does. The things that cause me to gain (and I know for a fact the things I listed are the problem) need to be "enjoyed" far and few in between until I am at maintenance and can control gain / losses more easily.
In 2000 I was below my goal weight from dieting and I lost 33 lbs in 6 months while enjoying life (and fried dough)..I am older now (makes it harder) and regardless of what any one believes MOST (not all..but most) men lose weight easier than woman like someone else said...muscle mass. My husband while over weight has some massive muscles and strength that I do not nor will I ever have therefore most likely burns more than I could.
What i have that he does not is the endurance and drive. So while for now..he can lose faster in the long run...I will lose more weight but gain so much more in life!0 -

1.) Men have way more testosterone then females which helps to burn more calories really quickly which leads to the greater outcome of losing weight faster then women.
2.) Men don't have to have the burden of carrying children so we don't need the extra fat to survive.
(Women need the extra fat to help keep themselves and their child their carrying alive through harsh weather conditions. All mammals have this.)
3.) Men are designed to put on muscle by working and when muscle is built contributes to burning more calories.
Comparing men and women in fitness is irrelevant because both genders function and work in completely different ways.0 -

The thing that ticks me off is men who obviously are able to drop 50 pounds like a hot potato, give advice to women who are having a lot of trouble dropping even 5 LBS no matter what they do. Then they act like they are suddenly experts on weight loss. Unfortunately, it is not the same for everyone. I find that when" that time" approaches I can't lose any weight no matter what I do. It's just one of those things. But there are the experts who refuse to understand biological differences.0

AS others have said.....muscle mass plays a big part. What are you doing to increase yours? Or are you worried about becoming bulky?
I just recently started strength exercises (taking it slow as I tend to hurt myself in that area) But some is better than none I guess!
Unless of course you consider lifting children several times a day, or laundry,trash etc. lifting LOL0
