Can anyone help me? Question regarding trans fats

Hi all

I'm looking to cut out trans fats from my diet and I'm looking through the things I eat, due to me being in the UK and them not being listed in the nutritional info i have to read through the ingredients list

I understand you should avoid:

hydrogenated vegetable oil
partially hydrogenated vegetable oil
vegetable shortening - (Can anyone tell me how this appears on the ingredients list?)
margarine

Are there any others I should look out for and avoid?

Also, some of the foods I eat just have "vegetable oil", is this safe to eat without concern of me eating trans fats?

e.g Chicken,Rice Flour ,Potato Starch ,Cornflour ,Salt ,Stabiliser (Sodium Triphosphate) ,Dextrose ,Brown Sugar , Vegetable Oil

Thank you!

This site implies that vegetable shortening would be identified in the labeling in the UK.

    Edit to add:
Many labeling "requirements" in the UK appear to be voluntary.

That doesn't answer my question at all. I do make my own food but I would like to vary it up by eating breaded meat, roasted meat, etc. I do not want to eat nothing but clean "bro foods" (e.g chicken breasts, tuna, brown rice, etc) for the rest of my life. If it fits into my macros. micros and overall calories then I will eat it.

Read the following link - some interesting opinions by David Gillespie.

So if a food just lists "vegetable oil" and doesn't say hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated in the UK is it safe to assume it doesn't contain trans fats?
