Did you hit your goal, only to have it move?

6 months ago I made a decision to lose some weight...thought 30 pounds would do it. It's been 25 years or more since I had been at that weight. Well, I'm getting close and as of this morning I was 2 pounds away from my goal. Problem is, I think another 5 pounds would make me feel better. But I can't help but wonder if in another 5 pounds, I won't think, Hmmm, what about another 5 pounds.

I don't come close to an eating disorder and can't wait to start maintaining, but I like the way I am starting to look and feel and wonder when I will feel like enough is enough.

Anyone else chasing a moving target?

Yep, i started with wanting to lose 10lbs, which was a reasonable goal and I achieved it. Set a new goal for 5 more pounds and so on, until I finally got the point where I realized it wasn't necessarily the number on the scale I wanted to change, but the amount of fat I was seeing on my body, and how I'd rather see muscle.

So at this point, my goal is to lower body fat percentage rather than weight. I eat well, do some strength work 3 days a week and run the other 3. Progress is slow at this point, but I'm at "goal weight" and working on keeping the muscle and losing a bit more fat.
