lower threshold for calories

So im getting a bit confused by all the different advice on the internet about net calories, deficits, and eating back the exercise calories, so i thought that i would ask here.

should i make sure that no matter how much i excercise i have net calories of 1200 and over (is that not the minimum needed?)
or is under 1200 good? or should i go all the way up to my goal calories(even though technically i have eaten that many but burned some off)?

my goal is 1420 and im exercising every day burning at least 1000 calories, so in what area should my net calories be?
