You have to try and not rely on the number so much. I know it sucks. I have a size 8 jeans and size 10, both are the same brand and both fit perfectly. Makes no sense! It all depends on the cut and style of the pant. Whichever flatters your body the best, just go with that...not the size!

Why is it i wear a size 1 in my legs and a size 3 in my butt? Why is it that anytime i buy pants they have to fit my butt but be HUGE on my legs, or fit my legs but be tight around my butt? Because women's sizes are not standardized so there is a lot of variation. Plus your body type makes a difference. My friend who is slim with no curves is the same size as me, but my curvy butt can't fit into some of the same size 8s she wears though I can fit into some size six jeans that have more room in the hips.

Women's clothing sizes are ridiculous, and vary widely from brand to brand, and even within brands but different styles. Drives me crazy! There really should be an industry standard of some sort.

I can wear a 2 or 4 in some jeans, a 6 in others, but same brand & size, different stye and I can't even get them over my hips.

Have you ever heard the song that was written and produced Anthony Ray? A.K.A. Sir Mix-a-Lot. He released a song in 1992 on his Mack Daddy album that was titled "Baby Got Back". In this song he praises the virtues of women that have a large gluteus maximus when compared to the size of their waist line. He emphases numerous times in the lyrics of the song that having "back", which is not to be confused with having a spine, is an admirable physical feature for a woman to have. He was actually referring to a woman's butt and not the actual back. You keep stressing that your butt is an issue with clothing but apparently many young males tend to find this to be a positive thing so do not despair.

Sometimes i try one size that's too small, so i go the next size up and its too big. i'm truly F'd

One manufacturing issue with clothing is acceptable variance from specifications. Let's the waist band for a skirt specs at 26 inches and will be called a size 10. The acceptable variance is selected to be 1 inch. A waist band that measures 25 incches is allowed to be used as a size 10. Likewise if the band measured 27 inches.

Everything else regarding fit depends on easch individuals specific body measurements

YES!! I am now wearing a size 12 pant which I havent worn in who knows how long...I bought a size 12 dress for my birthday next week...yeah too small...sad!! I hear you, its sooo frustrating with womens clothes!!
