Question about choosing exercise...

Hi,
I am on week 3 and I have to say although it is extremely hard to lose weight & eat right this app makes it a bit easier, I just love it.
But I wonder about entering your exercise. When I do cardio like Walk At Home with Leslie Sansone or work out at the gym it' s easy but what about when you do work out DVD's like Tracy Anderson or Gilad what do you list it as? I have piced aerobics general I think but I want to be as accurate as possible.
I have been a bit discouraged I have been doing pretty good about keeping my calories at 1200 a day and working out 5-7 times a week but after almost 3 weeks I don't think I've lost a pound. I expected that with such low calories and exercise it would come off a little faster. I mean c'mon 1200 calories is not alot!!
Anyone else question how to enter exercise?
Thanks for reading and am looking forward to reading other posts!

I have only recently started MFP, I work out at curves about 6 times a week and try to walk every night. The calories I use doing the exercise I add to my daily allowance of 1500 calories and eat them too. Could it be you are not eating enough?0

You also need to remember that as you exercise you are building muscle. So even if you're not seeing the loss on the scale, you are toning your body. If you haven't already, I would suggest taking your measurements and track those in addition to your weight loss. Your weight isn't just a number on a scale, it's about how you feel and how your clothes fit. I still go through weeks where I don't lose, but I don't give up because I'm losing inches (14 inches overall since I started) and that makes me happy.
Personally I try to stay between 1200 and 1400 calories per day and I don't eat my exercise calories back. But everyone is different on here as you will find.
Just stick with this - it does work!0 -
Thank you for the responses! Basically I try to stay at 1200 calories a day including my exercise, so I may go over 1200 but then with exercise it brings my calorie intake to 1200 or under, that is the right way right?
While I do appreciate that with working out your body shifts and gets toner, I've worked out for years but after having my son my body totally changed and not for the better. Working out alone has not cut it which is why I turned to mfp. I really thought with the much lower calorie intake I would see results faster. I plan on sticking with it though so hopefully eventually I will see huge results. I am so glad I found these boards really looking forward to getting to know everybody.
Does anybody else question whether they are entering the correct exercise info?0
