Frustrated and discouraged

I'm 5'2 and at my heaviest was 167. I've been working out and countng calories since January, and have lost 18 lbs and 17.5 inches. Really, only acutally working out for about 2 months. We have a beach trip in June, so I want to be able to comfortably wear a bikini when we go. I have a hard time finding bathing suits since I'm a DD, so I was very excited to find one online in my size. It arrived today, so I tried it on to see how the girls fit. I walked into the living room where my mom and my sister were, and my mom says, "I like the top, but not the fact that it's a bikini. You need something that covers your stomach." Hello, I have been working my *kitten* off to lose weight and avoid all the ****ty processed food you bring into the house so that I can look good in this thing. And, we're still two more months away from me wearing it. So that could be another 18 lbs and 17 inches if I keep workng at it. Am I the only one who gets discouraged by comments like that?

Don't let it get to you. You have done an amazing job so far. Your mom may have just been being a mom, looking at her baby in a bikini that she wouldn't be caught dead in because her generation had no intent of being caught dead in one. You were looking through eyes of pride, in what you've done, what you plan to do, and how you hope to look. You saw the glass half full. She say it half empty. You both saw the same glass, just from two different perspectives. Forget about it & refocus for yourself and what you'll do for the next 2 months. :-)0

I agree^^. At my healthiest as an adult (just out of high school- early twenties), my parents constantly gave me a hard time for wearing shorter dresses and shorts.0
