Adding strength training for fat loss?HELP PLEASE!

Alright so I have been doing cardio almost every day for the past month and I over did it a few days so I had to cut down. Will it make me lose fat more efficently by adding strength training in with my work outs? I have health conditions and my body responds wayyy better if I only do 30-45 mins, but I really want to lose the fat. I feel like I have soooo much extra, unnecessary fat, it and if I don't do a lot of cardio, it wont burn off. I am not setting myself up for unrealistic weight loss expectations, but I do want to lose as much weight as I can. I would like to get to my goal weight in under a year.
Will it help to include strength training? Or is that only necessary after I get to the weight achieved and I want to tone up.
I have at least 30 lbs of fat that I want to lose and I want to really get it off and keep it off.
You read different answers about this everywhere so I am asking people based on experience.
Thank you!

Weight training has worked really well for me. I do 30 minutes of weight training and 20 minutes of cardio 3X a week and it helped me lose 20 pounds in 7 weeks. Plus, I feel great! Good luck!0

More muscle = better metabolism so yes weight training is a extremely great tool for weight loss not to mention toning up areas that you may think are fatty but really just have less muscle mass. All the best0

Yes - I noticed more difference in less than 2 weeks with Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred than I did in losing weight with cardio in a couple months!0

Keep in mind that weight training will have a different effect on your body than cardio. You could lose inches but not pounds. Sometimes it's hard to deal with mentally when your body is shrinking but the scale stays the same or even goes higher. But keep in mind that as long as you get to the size you want to be who cares what the scale says. I highly recommend that you start lifting weights but be aware that the scale may not cooperate. Don't let that scare you off. I've been doing a 50/50 split of cardio and weights and I'm thinking about experimenting with an 80% weights 20% cardio split for a few weeks or a month to see what results I get.0
