Do some races have naturally lower body fat

Hello,
I have this terrible habit of sneakily looking at other women in the gym and estimating their muscle tone. I see a lot of black women with excellent muscle tone. Even if a few of them are a bit overweight, you can still see the muscles in their arms and thighs.
I'm Asian and my body fat is really high, I don't seem to be putting on any muscle either despite trying to lift heavy. Most of my Asian friends who are slim don't have visible muscle either.
Is it to some extent a function of race? Its just a curious question.. I'm sure there are many many exceptions in all races.

I don't know about lower body fat, but I have noticed there are certain body types that are more heavily naturally muscled. When we were small, adults used to refer those of us kids that were muscled as 'thick' or 'heavy handed'. Believe it or not, that usually meant that when you were smacked, it would hurt the smacker's hand :ohwell:  ie: use a shoe, throw something but don't grab by the hand and whack away at butt, you would be sorry.
For me, at the end of the day, the race thing doesn't come into play all that much, although, Indian & Chinese yielded me a very small person :drinker:0
