Is this a trick question?0

Smoking will not have a huge impact on your weight changes provided you don't consume extra food when you quit.
Exercising longer will cause weight loss (provided diet is proper) whether you are smoking or not.0 -
Looking into my crystal ball, I foresee that It will take you exactly 30 weeks to lose 30 lbs. Get that sexy Halloween costume ready!
Okay, just kidding. No one can tell you when you'll reach goal. Everyone's metabolism, calorie intake and calorie expenditure is individual. Personally I'm going with a rather lax "80 lbs down by the summer of 2014" plan, but in the end it's just going to take as long as it takes. I figure that time's gonna pass no matter what, so would I rather weigh the same or more in the future, or less?0 -
How fast is the other train going?0

The quitting smoking shouldn't affect it too much one way or the other.
Consistently following a routine that tracks food and exercise (burn more than you consume) will lose the weight. You can aim for 1-2 pounds a week. That doesn't mean the weight will fall off week by week like clockwork. Lots of things influence how a body drops pounds. It's all about how it adds up monthly. 30 pounds sounds like a 5 to 8month endevour. Maybe a little less, maybe a little more.0 -
Honestly, your health will be in jeopardy as long as you continue smoking at all.
One of the healthiest things you can do for yourself is to quit.
Other than that, you weight loss will depend on your adherence to the calories in, calories out principle.0 -
