Water weight not going away!

Last weekend, I had a bit of a splurge weekend. On Monday when I weighed in I was 4 pounds heavier than what I was the previous Thursday! Now normally I ignore this. There was no way I ate 14000 extra calories that weekend . I probably had between 1500-2000 everyday. But I did have alcohol that saturday, which I do once In a blue moon. However it's been a week and everyday my weight had consistently been 4-5 pounds higher than what it used to be. What gives? I usually lose my water weight in 2-3 days. I have been trying to drink alot of water, and my eating habits have gone back to normal. Is this real weight? Could it be the alcohol is still causing water retention? It's really putting me down, I feel horrible and bloated everyday and feel like all my progress has been ruined!

Are you watching your sodium intake? Are you on your period or about to start? All those things will make you retain more water than usual. Whether it's water weight or actual weight, you still need to continue doing the things that help you lose weight-eating lots of fruit and veggies, lean protein, whole grains, high fiber foods, and healthy fats. Drinking water and exercising. Keep doing these things and the weight will come off again. Don't quit...just keep it movin'!0

I gained 5 lbs of water weight from over eating last Sunday and then going a little too hard at the gym and it disappeared finally today. So for me one week...0

I had a girlie weekend away 4 weeks ago and was 133.4lb before I left on the Friday and was 137.4lb on the Monday. I didn't eat much apart from going out to lunch on the Saturday where I had a cheeseburger and chips but I didn't even eat it all. I think the 2 1.5ltr bottles of lambrini, 2 glasses of asti martini & umpteem shots were the cause. I noticed the difference on the Sunday when I got home as my pyjamas were much tighter & my stomach really bloated. It took me nearly two weeks to get back down to 133.4lb. I definately think the alcohol has a lot to do with it. Don't worry you'll be back to normal soon.0
