Interesting Change in My Attitude Toward Restaurants

Today I noticed an interesting change in my attitude toward restaurants. Previously I just ordered whatever I wanted, with no thought about calories. Now that I'm tracking what I eat and exercising regularly, I found myself looking at the menu items in terms of calories. Hubby wanted to have lunch at Red Lobster, where I'd normally have a big combo meal. Today I carefully checked several options and settled on one that I could fit into the day's food plan. I didn't feel stressed or deprived. It actually felt very normal. I was worried that eating out might be a pitfall, but this was very encouraging.

Awesome! Sounds like healthy eating is becoming part of your lifestyle. That means the weight will come off and stay off! Great job eating at Red Lobster and eating healthy. I could eat those cheddar bread things at every meal haha.

Awesome, I just started a couple weeks ago and have gone out a few times. I've stuck to lower calorie items and much like you was suprised that I felt satisfied. I'm starting to realize that the pleasure of eating out is not just about the food, but also about the relaxation and company.

That's a big step. So many of us feel that eating out will immediately derail the day/week, or is an excuse for a big splurge. You've shown that you can do it and feel good about your decision. And Red Lobster is a tough place to get a healthy meal!

Oh yeah, those cheddar biscuits are downright sinful! I think being true to my exercise plan and seeing how much better my skinny pants are starting to fit (I have a pair to measure my success) is definitely fueling my shift in attitude. I love that nothing is forbidden, but that it's a matter of deciding whether it's worth the extra workout or cutting back on another meal. Had a stir fry wrap for dinner, and it was really good and low cal to offset the lunch.
