Hey all!! Well I started off weighing 14stone (196) I lost 6lbs myself cutting back and excerising before I joined mfp. I was originally eating 1200 cals but upped them to around 1400 when I found this wasn't enough. I'm 33 5ft 4 and 28% bf.

After reading eating more to lose weight I calculated my bmr at 1600 and tdee at 2480(working out around 3-4 times a wk) so was eating around 1800 the last 2 wks. I understand it can take a few weeks for the body to sort itself out and start losing again so wasn't worried when last week I lost nothing. This week I have put on 3 lbs :(. Although I had a family party sat and was drinking and not eating great yesterday, I still logged everything and the weekly net cals are still averaging below 2000 cals.

I am not unsure if I should stick at the 1800 cals for this week or drop them again, although don't want to give up on the eating more to lose too soon or muck up my metabolism, but I definitely don't want to end up where I started.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

This is probably the key. Typical party food can mess with your water levels. Give it a few days, and your body should sort itself out. I highly doubt you ate 9000 calories OVER maintenance :)

Looking at your diary, it's a lot of sodium and not very nutritious.

Drink more water, throw in more fresh veggies and fruit.

I would say give it a bit more time :) I ate 1200 cals when I first started and lost like mad (20 lbs in 2 months), but I also felt extremely restricted diet-wise, and couldn't enjoy meals out with friends. I'm now at 1600 cals, and my weight loss is a bit mad (but still downward trending), and I'm a lot happier. I plan on bumping this number up even more, because I don't want to live on 1600cals a day forever!

On holiday over Christmas for 3 weeks, I hardly tracked and ate whatever I wanted (inlcuding half a pint of B&J XD) with some conscious "healthier" choices. I did 9 days of Jillian Michael's 30DS (over the 3 weeks and not in a row). I would say I was netting just over 2000 cals a day. On that "plan", I lost about 0.5 kg over the 3 weeks ;)

    I'm also 5"4', and currently at about 148lbs :)

I'm going to remind you that weight isn't every thing. ;)

Be sure you're measuring yourself as well. I keep going all kinds of up and down on my weight and 10 is my highest loss. Despite that though, my inches and body fat percentages have gone down gradually. I'm getting more muscled as well because I'm actually feeding them. I weigh 8lbs more than when I last fit into the same clothes 2 years ago... and I look better in them now than before because I am less squishy ;)

ignore the eat more to lose mantra within reason, eat your daily calories and you have to drink those 8 glasses of water or water from fruits and vegetables, thats no open for discussion. You have to drink water to get rid of water weight and fat.

and as already mentioned muscle weighs more then fat as does water so if you are gaining muscle or retaining water which ironically is part of gaining muscle too then you will weigh more but will still have a lower fat %

Lastly just ignore it and make sure you are eating healthy foods lower in fat, salt and sugar and higher in Proteins and good fats and vitamins, Carbs are dependant on your situation but you need them for muscles and they convert to the primary food source for the brain.

Your diet could use more protein. If you get hungry during the day (and who doesn't?) a solution I've recently discovered is boiling up a batch of eggs and eating the egg whites during the day as a snack. They're packed with protein , only a few calories and very filling!
