Bad food addictions, how does it affect your weight loss?

So I am addicted to diet soda. I dont know how much weight that is keeping on me, but I do know that I can't stop drinking it. The diet soda curbs my sugar craving and if I don't have it for a day or so I get moody. LOL. Pretty sad?

I also drink lots of diet soda. Recently I've been able to cut back a bit, because I stopped emotional eating and somehow realized that I was also drinking diet soda for emotional reasons rather than as a beverage.
There are studies that prove that diet soda does all sorts of evil things to one's body, but there are studies to prove that about a lot of foods and drinks. There are also studies that prove that diet soda does no damage, or very little damage.
I watched "Hungry for Change" on Netflix last night which has me thinking about the dangers of diet soda more than I ever did before, but I still am sitting here drinking one.
I think that it's another "everything in moderation" thing. Best of luck to you!0 -
I drink a diet soda about 2-3 times a week now, but used to drink diet soda every day. I gave it up for about a month the beginning of this year to see if it would help me out and I found it didn't make enough of a difference for me to cut it out completely. For me a diet soda here and there doesn't affect my progress and is something I like to have sometimes.0

I like diet soda but there is none in the house...
I am too paranoid to order it while eating out because:
1.) People then think I am on a "diet" and they ask /question me (none of my friends are trying to lose weight so none get diet soda)
2.) The people serving me will get it wrong and accidentally pour me the non diet soda in a glass. I am afraid of this because I accidentally got the wrong one at taco bell, and one time I was at a restaurant it didn't taste like diet after I asked for diet soda. Paranoid D;
--- Yes, I have other bad food addictions though. If I have nutella near me it's hard to eat the right portion, so the extra calories can hinder my weight loss if I let it.
Also... I've been drinking way too much coffee lately. It makes me jittery and makes sugar cravings higher.0 -
I'm addicted to sugar. If I have a little I can't stop! It makes for an on again off again approach to dieting, which sucks.
I'm working on indulging occasionally and then putting it behind me, but it's hard because I think about it all the time for about 5 days after eating one sweet treat.
I think the same about wheat. If I have a bagel, I want another one right away...0 -
I'm a food addict and when I binge I literally binge on anything and everything. It affects my weight loss by stopping it. ):0
