So for weeks I teetered around the same weight - or I gained grrr while on 1200 calories. (mind you I am 37 F was 201lbs)

This past week I found the whole explanation of TDEE-20% thing..I figured what do I have to lose I have not been getting anywhere with what i was doing. So I did my calculations - and I ended up with 1514 calories to be consumed. My weigh in is Mondays 6 AM
I did not "hit" the precise calorie goal everyday but I got as close as I could. I tried getting as much protein as possible and keeping my carbs below that. Not really paying attention to the numbers just making sure protein was higher thats all. Was worried because this sent my fat grams higher than I would of liked.
I did Shred on Tuesday other than that I did one of my Zumba DVD's for 30 minutes for the other 4 days. I only technically worked out Mon - Fri. Sat I worked in the yard here and there. Sunday i did nadda!!

I lost 3 pounds and and almost an inch off my chest, waist and hips!!!!!! So incredibly excited and just wanted to share so those concerned about raising their calories get some motivation to at least try it!! :)

Great job! Keep it up. if it works for you - stick with it.

I have done the higher calories per day thing, it does not work for me. Every 'body' is different so it doesnt matter what anyone says - i know what works for me. I appreciate all weight loss stories though. Keep at it!!!

Great job! 1200 worked for me for a couple weeks, then I was also at a plateau. Since then I've learned switching things up when you hit that plateau is the key. If you hit it doing the TDEE -20%, just cut back some again (not for more than a couple weeks). Switching up my workouts and "shocking" my body into dropping the weight has helped too. I love using these forums to see what has worked for other people.

Metsela - I have the 9 disc set but I have been using the activate one which I love!! -

Xfmdollx - I will find the link that I used from here and post for you

Thank you everyone :) I was super happy!! And I soooo know the same does not work for everyone however those that have stalled seem to be petrified (as I was) to up their calories. I just wanted them to keep an open mind when considering it.

    Great Job!

I am a 1200 calorie flunkee - but now I think I'm doing it all right because I lost 3.5 inches (gained a half inch in my calf? Maybe I measured wrong, that's the last place I need to gain inches) in one week by upping my calories and doing New Rules of Lifting. I didn't lose 3lbs, but I'm okay with that! I eat 1700-2000 calories depending on workouts

Whatever works for you. 1200 works for me, so I'm going to stick with that...Plus, if I eat much more than I do currently I am afraid I might burst at the seams ( I always feel pretty full.)
