It all depends on your age and hight. Im 26 5'4 female, my healthy % should be between 20-25% body fat.
    Hope that helps

Go to the top to TOOLS, then go to BMI and calculate it for your own body.

I had mine done this week, and it was 21.5%. According to the chart I came home with, for my age group (40-49), an optimum "healthy" body fat percentage would be 23.5% or lower. Age 20-29 would be 19% or lower, 30-39 would be 20% or lower, 50-59 would be 26.6% or lower, and 60+ would be 27.5% or lower. I'm aiming to hit 19%, as that's the only way I'll ever see the teens again!

Yeah, it does depend on your height and age. I had mine done a few months ago and was at 26%. That is a high average for me, but still in a healthy range. Mainly athleats are at 17% and under. The body needs at least 13% body fat to maintain joints and what not. As for calculating it, there are a few ways if you google it. I used body measurments and it was pretty close to what they calculated at my gym. They used this electro machine that is supposed to be 95% accurate. I can't wait to go back to test again since I've losty 9 pounds

I just had a Bod Pod test done and my Body Fat Percent was 26.4 which for a female is considered "moderately lean" and "generally acceptable for good health."

This is what it said for females:

Lower than 15% - Risky (Low body fat)
15-18% - Ultra Lean - Fat levels often found in elite atheletes
18-22% Lean - Lower body fat levels than many people. Generally excellent for health and longevity.
22-30% - Mod. Lean - Generally acceptable for good health.
30-40% - Excess accumulation of fat over time.
    Over 40% - Risky (high)

BMI is not the same as body fat %

My bmi is 22 but my body fat% is 27

    I am 5'-3" and 125lbs

Does my body fat % seem accurate?.... I'm 30 yo, 5'5" 170 lbs and had my body fat tested in 3 spots with the tool that pinches and it came to 20.79% .

It could be accurate if you're quite muscular (and if the person who tested you is good with calipers). I'm fairly muscular, am 5'6", weigh 142, and have a BF of 21.5%.

calipers aren't accurate- Hydrostatic testing or bod pod is the way to go.
