A good friend of mine just started working out. His workouts are about an hour long and consist of lift wights on machines...not free weights. Ever since he started he is always hungry. He has an handful of pecans and almonds on the way to the gym. Then after he has tow pieces of toast and a pack of instant oatmeal. He said he feels like he could eat all day long. Any suggestions on what he can eat before and or after to keep his hunger under control.
TIA!!
TIA!!

eat more protein within 30 minutes of the workout as that is when it is going to be the most useful. Protein also takes more energy to digest and keeps me full for longer periods of time.0

Sounds more mental than anything, plus not eating enough/the right things before and after. A handful of nuts isn't much food, certainly not a large volume anyways. And high glycemic carbs will cause you to feel hungry quicker regardless of when you eat them.0

After workout - More than that!!!
Before workout, More!! Although that depends on WHEN he trains, and what is eaten in the rest of the day.
Depends on loads more as well:
How many calories in total?
Has that number been adjusted for the increase in activity?
How Many calories Before\After working out?
Enjoy the calories afterwards, My Post Workout meals came in at 1200 Calories on their own!! (it did include breakfast number 2 for me though!)0 -
