Freezing butter?

My mom says that it's okay to freeze cheese overnight and then pack it to take for lunch the next day because it'll thaw out and won't go bad when I eat lunch (I leave my apartment at about 7:30 and I'd probably end up eating it at about 10:30 or 11:00). Could I do the same with butter? What about vegan garlic butter?

I don't have an insulated lunchbox right now, fyi. I don't have a cold pack either, but I guess I could put some ice in a ziploc back and stick it in my tupperware container... but if I freeze it overnight and take it out before I leave would I need to do that?

I don't know anything about vegan butter. But, real butter is fine at room temperature for a period of time, up to even a few weeks (depending on the actual temperature in the room, overall freshness, etc). Totally not necessary to freeze it in order to keep it fresh for a few hours in a lunch bag. Again, though, I have no idea what vegan butter is even made of, so I imagine that's an entirely different concept.

I freeze regular butter all the time. Why don't you just get some blue ice and pack one in your bag?

I don't know about freaky vegan butter... but you can leave regular sweet cream butter at room temperature for days (covered, of course). You'll be fine even if you don't freeze it...
