It depends. With the flu, I just sleep. With a cold, I eat more carbs than usual, as my body wants them.
Today, I am recovering what seems to be a bad reaction to ground flaxseed - I have had about 500 calories all day long, almost all fruit and veggies.0 -
When I'm sick, I resort back to my old staples: Lots of chicken soups (noodle, dumpling, whatever) but I make sure they're the light versions, and a ton of orange juice and gatorade if I have a fever. I know I'm feeling better when I start craving other things :happy:0

Depends- cold, nope not really.
Stomach virus- sleep and a lot of carbs while sick and then after I get over it I usually need a nice big steak0 -
I just got over a pretty nasty sinus cold. My illness is usually brought on by eating at a deficit AND working a lot of overtime at once. This exactly just happened to me. I overfeed when I'm sick to get through it, loading up on protein especially, and try to sleep as much as possible.0

a lot of people turn to comfort food and crap when they're sick, but the irony is that the better you eat while sick, the faster you'll recover. what helps fight disease? a strong immune system. what makes your immune system strong? lots of good nutrients.0

I usually eat about the same if its a cold. I may eat a light soup as the only different thing for lunch. I have not had the stomach flu since starting my new diet, but I when I do have one I stick with toast, saltines and juice or ginger ale.0

I don't worry about it much when I'm sick. I eat when I feel like it, and pretty much whatever I want, but if i feel really bad, that's usually just soup, which isn't a lot of calories anyway.0
