Hi all I started using mfp about 3 weeks now. I stick to my calorie intake and I workout with chalean extreme. This morning I weighed and I gained 4 pounds. Totally disappointed. I have not cheated the diet or workout, but I am not loosing an ounce. HELP.

  • Sometimes to boost your metabolism you need to change your calorie intake to say maybe 1300 calories (instead of 1200) and burn the same. This will help you so you don't plateau. The deficit already figured into the 1200 calories is 500 so you may want to burn almost all of them each day. You may wish to do a colon cleanse every so often which will get things moving. Are you eating enough fiber per day? That could also be the issue. Stay positive and you will succeed.

I have learned watching the biggest loser that week # 3 is the worst week.! Don't get caught up in the number's also remember muscle weight's more then fat and if you are working out that will also do it... Look back at your foods and give it a check. Maybe there is something on there that you might find the reason and definatly get your water in.. Wishing you luck and I know you will have better days coming!!!!! Kathy

Are you sure your scale is working right? Do you weigh once a week at the same time? My weight changes day to day, hour by hour.

    Hello sorry to hear that

It could be tons of thing....Chaleane Extreme has alot of resistance workout...so you could be building muscles....Did you by any chance measure yourself prior to starting your new life style change...because you may be loosing inches, which is also a good thing

What is your calorie requirement.....It needs to be atleast 1200 calories....and even with that being said alot of people body needs more than 1200 or they wont loose any weight.

What is your sodium intake like....are you going over? ensure you are watching your sodium intake

also ensure you are watching your Carbs intake and that you are getting your protein in there....

Also you need to ensure you are drinking lots and lots of water.

Your diet is private, maybe you can make it public for a bit...so people can review it and give you their opinion

This happened to me in the begining, same amount.....I gained 4 pounds and I was so upset. I listened to everyones advice and switched my goal from 2 pounds a week to 1.5 which gave me more calories and I started losing weight right away. What is your weekly goal set to?

this happened to me in the beginning too. I think it was right around the 3rd week I gained 6lbs! I went on here and changed my 'goal weight' to my first mini-goal and it gave me more calories. The next week I was back to losing around 2lb/week again.

Thanks everyone for responding to me. I followed the advice and changed my goal to 1.5 pound per week which gave me more calories. My original calories was 1200 now it is 1430. I will follow this and see what happens. I started 3 weeks ago, I also started chalean extreme the same time. I have not lost any weight at all but I have gained. My husband keeps telling me to ignore the scale. The first 2 weeks the scale stood still bu this morning I weighed and I gained 4 pounds, go figure.

Again thanks guys because weight loss can be difficult and depressing when you are disciplined and no results. I will keep you posted.
