 I signed my son up tonight for junior rugby, he should be in the under 7 divison but because he is over the weight range he has to play for the under 8's and its tackle rugby not ripper rugby. I walked out of there and faced up to the hardest thing, its my fault he is the size he is. I have made the same mistake with him that i have made with myself....and you think i would know better..GGGRRR im
so annoyed with myself

I know the best thing to do now is change everything i can to make my son healthy and also myself so thats what i am going to do. i have to succeed now, i have to do the right thing for my family. Hopefully i won't be judged to harshly, although i more than likely deserve it. I will stay positive and have fun with my son going on walks and bike rides and make it fun for us both. Oh and hunting the receipe books for healthy baking.

  • Dont beat yourself up about it, we all make mistakes in life. Just try to make the best of it and keep your head up and encourage your son. Positive is the way to go. I hope things work out for ya'll and good luck!

at least you've reached a turning point while he is still young. Now he'll grow up doing exercise and knowing about healthy eating and hopefully will grow up to be a healthy young adult. Don't feel bad! It's better to make steps towards changing his lifestyle now rather than him having to face it when he is an adult which is much much harder. At this young age he will adapt easily to the new and healthier lifestyle. Good luck!:flowerforyou:

Thank you for your kind words and words of encouragement. Good news to report. Yesterday and today my son and i went for a 45min bike/walk/jog. Baylee (myson) on his bike and me walking for 30mins and jog for approx 15mins. I guess this was the wake up i needed to really get me going.
We had so much fun which made ot even better.

Hi again everyone, starting to feel really positive about this whole thing
Baylee and i have done our exercise again for the 3rd day in a row, can't believe how good i feel after i have finished. It also makes you think about what choices we make when we are about to eat. I find i am really thinking hard about what i am about to put in the mouths of my family....and thats a good thing.
