Got a new balance slim-mini HRM....dunno how to use it.

I know how to use the pedometer, but I can't for the life of me figure out how it's supposed to track cardio and calories burned that way. HELP! I read the manual, but it doesn't shed any light on that. I need to know so I can use it later to determine whether or not tae-boe burns as many calories as MFP claims.
