So I've been reading a lot about this and how important it is to soak your oats overnight. Despite over an hour of reading and googling, I still can't find a solid answer on if this is necessary for uncle toby's instant oats?
What do you guys do?
I'm getting tummy aches and constipation despite eating very well and apparently soaking your oats make it a lot easier to digest (and better for your skin too). I eat two serves of porridge a day for lunch so If soaking them overnight helps with digestion then I'm willing to try.
Just curious though if it's just going to waste my time if it's not needed on instant oatmeal.
Thanks

I never soak my oats and I've never had a problem. I sometimes make overnight oats, but that has nothing to do with "soaking" them for digestion or anything.0

I presume you are talking about steel cut oats. I have never soaked mine but perhaps it would make the cooking time less. I have never heard of that. It will be interesting to see what you find out.0

There was some internet rumour going around about soaking oats but I think it was just pseudoscience...can't recall.0

Your instant oats have likely been boiled vigourously for some time and then dried out. They do that so they are quicker to cook, so really, they have already been soaked.0

oops I read that as "do you guys soak your nuts?".0

It really just depends how I plan to use them if I soak them or not. If you've noticed you have digestive issues when you don't soak them, why not try it? Everybody is different. The best way to know if it works for you, is to try it out. Best of luck!0
