Can you drink too much water? Just started yesterday and was wondering if I am drinking too much water. I drink about 8 16oz cups per day.

Yes you can drink too much water. My grandmother was admitted to the hospital at some point due to drinking to much water. And I know about a hazing accident where the recruits got water to drink rather than beer or other alcoholic drinks and one of them died due to water poisoning. The problem is that your losing too much minerals and other stuff you need while losing all that fluid.
That being said, if you're feeling mostly healthy and don't have any problems this probably works for you. I would mention this next time you're at your doctor, unless you're worried about it, then schedule a meeting earlier.0 -
In all things, moderation.
In 2007 a woman in California died of water intoxication from drinking too much water in a radio contest. Your body electrolytes, mostly sodium, get so diluted it causes your brain to swell and well, that's not good for a body. Excessive water drinking, polydipsia, can be a sign of diabetes.0 -
Apparently one of the symptoms is actually you feel thirsty. How ironic.0
