Hello, I've been dieting off and on for a few years with no success. I have lots of reasons and excuses for my poor diet and limited exercise. But after three weeks of Skinny Fiber and Garcinia Cambogia Extract because of their "fantastic results" hype and no change in weight or measurements, I'm tired of wasting money. Lesson learned. Once my supply is depleted there will be no more fad supplements.
Basically, I've learned here that I've been depriving my body of needed calories putting me into starvation mode and when I achieved a good calorie intake it was due to my occasional sweet indulgence. I thought after an initial two or three weeks I would start seeing a weight loss once my body learned it wasn't starving just not getting as much, but nothing has budged yet. So, I give up on that idea.
So, as of today, armed with new information I've learned here and through research I'm ready to find the person I was 19 yrs ago, or at least someone close to her.
Here's my problem, I'm very finicky in what I like or can eat. I have already cut out sodas of all kinds, including diet (none for over 3 wks) and limited iced tea and coffee. I can't eat stuff like yogurt since it will make me gag =( I also drink lots of water and can achieve my 8/8 a day without much of a problem, as long as it's flavored. I don't really care for many fruits or veggies.
Will eating the same foods sabotage me or are they ok as long as I'm close to my ideal calorie intake? There are a few fruits and veggies I like and I love salads with dressing. I also eat lots of diet type marketed packaged foods. I was used to only eating two meals a day but they were mostly healthy but evidently not enough good calorie intake. The last three weeks have brought mostly good calories but not enough.
I'd appreciate any getting started tips, my frustration level is already high, and my body image is already very fragile. I just want to find a way to get me started losing weight so my energy levels will increase so I can find the energy to start walking again and hopefully get to a point where I can start doing 5K's again, play with and keep up with my two young children and two active German Shepherds.
