Hello,

My name is Dasha.

I am a SAHM to 2 boys and 1 girl, ages 7, 4 and 2. I have been overweight my whole life. I tried everything I could to lose weight. I even had the lapband in 2006, it didn't help me. Now I am really working hard on myself. I have to do this for myself and mostly for my kids.

Can't wait to start this journey, and meet some new friends. I can't do this alone.

  • Hey, I'm from Utah too!! I know just how you feel. I have three kids and its SO hard to lose weight while trying to take care of three kids. Its especially hard to eat right with kids. This is a pretty good site and it's been great for tracking calories. If you need a buddy feel free to add me. Good luck.

Hi and welcome! I look at it as a life style ...not a diet. A diet is so restrictive. I still enjoy food but the things I have changed are portion size, sodium intake (a biggie for me) and sugar. You can do this and the bonus is you will feel healthier and have enegry to keep up with those kiddos of your.

Good luck and happy mohters day! Feel free to add me as a friend if you want

Hi Dasha! I'm another member from Utah! I'm so glad you're here--you can do this! I'm a SAHM of 4 kids, and I understand how it is to trying to mesh healthy eating and kid-friendly food. Many times I've just had to eat an entirely different meal than my kiddos, but it's good for them to try new things, too.

It's so true that this has to be a lifestyle. I reached my goal weight in June of 2008, then stopped logging my food and tracking everything I ate and gained back 25 pounds in a little over a year. Now I'm back at it trying to fit back into all my clothes. :ohwell: I've learned my lesson that the healthy, moderation-in-all-things way of life never stops. But it's worth all the work and dedication!

I'll be here for support, and I could use yours, too!
  • Wow thanks so much for all the warm welcome and wishes!
