High Sugars

I have been drinking smoothies every day for almost a week and I have gained 4ish pounds. Are sugars from fruit just as bad as sugars from candy and others things non fruit?

Fruit has the added benefits of some fiber and micronutrients not found in refined sugar.
Your body still has an insulin response to fruit, and it still has calories.
Measure/weigh everything you put in your smoothie, calculate the calories per serving, and fit it into your plan.
The recipe function is great, and will do all the math for you, as long as you do the measuring.
Count your calories, and stay within your macro goals.0 -
Keep in mind your weight gain may not be from the smoothies. It could be water weight or muscle.
I think that naturally occurring sugars are much healthier than sugar from candy, but that doesn't mean you don't have to count them. Be sure that the smoothies fit into your daily sugar intake.
You can also try adding other foods (like veggies: carrots, peas, kale) to your smoothies to balance the sugars out.0
