Ravenous after working out

I've been working out for several months now but lately I've been ravenous after hitting the gym. I drink tons of water, drink protein shake and peanut butter and then I have a meal later free that but two or three meals later I'm still starving and thinking about what I'm going to eat next. Has anyone else experienced this and is there any foods or things that you do to aid this? I don't ever come short of my recommend calories and I add more when I work out. I even have a Fitbit to tailor my daily calories even better. I'm at my final vanity pounds so I know that I shouldn't have greater than a 500-700 calorie deficit but I eat all my calories in the morning and have nothing left for the rest of the day!

Someone told me it is good to eat some protein after a workout. So I have been planning my workouts to happen right before my in-between meal snacks (I eat 6 times a day.) I usually have a small lite piece of cheese and a pickle or 1/2 of a protein bar and a big glass of water.0

Open your diary (in settings) so we can follow. Foods like spinach, celery, kale etc are all practically no calories and will fill you up. That's one idea.0

If you are at your final vanity pounds your deficit should be very small. Like 1/2 lb per week or 250 calories per day. 500n9s 1 lb per week and 750 is a pound and a half per week. That's too aggressive for the last 7 to 10 lbs. Bottom line? Eat a little more.0

Awesome that's a great idea thanks! Greens always fall out of my mind lol I dislike them but they are so great nutritionally and otherwise! I'm sure it's an accustom taste and I'll get used to it eventually!0

If it is an odd hunger pang that does not go away after eating something it might be low glucose levels. Post workout is a great time to feed your body some starch to replenish the glucose levels. It could also be your stomach telling you to eat a little more.0

Running does that to me. I just started training for a race last week and I'm craving food every minute of the day! Just trying to stay the course, keep my intake the same, and hope the running will eventually tip the scale back to the negative,,,0
