Eat Dessert Every Day

Or eat a food that you REALLY enjoy every day, a food within your calorie means, and you will STILL lose weight. I lost forty pounds in a year, and I was able to do it and still eat dessert. Every night for dessert I have something that I crave. Usually, its an orange and a few pieces of dark chocolate. Sometimes its yogurt with granola, sometimes pudding, sometimes a cereal bar. I used to think dessert always meant ice-cream, cookies, brownies, etc, and I would scarf them down just out of habit every night, in portions much larger than normal. Then I started counting and realizing how much extra I was intaking, most of it as mindless eating. But now, I eat less, but I ENJOY more. I feel so much more satisfied. Don't feel like you have to deprive yourself entirely, just realize how much it is you really need to be happy and savor it.

I eat dessert every day but plan it in advance and watch the actual serving size. Tonight I had strawberries with a dessert shell (cake).0

This is so true! I've been able to enjoy a small treat in the evening, usually a couple of squares of dark chocolate, or my personal favorite, Trader Joe's dark chocolate peanut butter cups. I try to save some calories for these treats, and it makes the weight loss much easier.0
