Hey so I have been doing turbo jam every day since I got is about 1 week and 3 days ago. I am totally hooked on this workout, and even though I set a "rest day"...when it comes to that day, I feel like I have energy and want to work out!
Is this bad? Is it ok? What are your thoughts

If you do not rest, you will eventually break down. This is true of everyone. Stress injuries will make you rest a lot longer than if you control yourself and rest sensibly.0

Well, personally i HATE taking a rest day because I feel fat/lazy the whole day. I realized though, that with a rest day, you are stronger and have way more endurance when you pick back up the day afterwards. I don't know, maybe it's a mind thing and maybe it's just me, but I think your body does need to rest every so often!0

One thing you can do is try to do something on your rest day that way you don't feel drained or lazy or for that matter bored haha. I personally hate rest days almost every week but there are times when I need them depending on how hard I was on my body that week. The most important thing for me though is to do something just at a much lower intesity then my regular daily workout. That way once the next week starts the following day I can really bring it.0

YES rest days are important. It give your body a chance to recover. Putting too much stress on your body will only increase the chance of injury. When you workout you are tearing down your muscles. When you rest, your body is repairing the muscles, and that's when you actually gain.
However If you are getting the 8 hours of sleep at night you should only need one one rest day a week. That also goes for if your workouts are not total body workouts everyday but are split up into sections.
You can also have active rest days. Such as going for a walk or some sort of very light cardio.
I know the feeling of rest days, all you think about is working out. So on rest days that I still feel like I have so much energy I just go for a walk.0 -
I asked Claressa Shields (First and so far only Gold Medal Female Boxer Olympian) and her coach whats the best thing to do as an athlete and they both said "rest".
Currently, you're in a honey moon period with turbo jam. Its understandable to want to spent more time with it. However, you should try and savor the experience and work on quality rather than quantity. Workout hard. Take some rest. Repeat.
A day in between rest is usually suggested for the muscles because thats the duration that they take to "repair". Give them some relaxation time to recover so they can help you kickass later.
On the off days however if you feel like you have too much energy, you can do mild workouts such as walking around or even a small run. Something not huge.
One thing worth mentioning is that as your intensity increases in your typical workouts, at least in boxing and weight lifting, you generally NEED that rest day in between because you're so exhausted that you cannot do another day even if you tried...0
