Calorie burn while weight training..?

So I just read that you shouldn't count this calorie burn because it will be inaccurate? Is this true?!? So the 200 Calories I've been eating back everyday has been for nothing!!! Well, at least it makes it easier at the end of the night to reach my calorie goal and macros : )

Anyone else had this problem before or know any other info on the subject?

  • I don't eat back my calories. I find that to be counter productive. Eat what you've burned off? Unless of course I am running for a couple of hours and then I go over my calorie goal (this is not adding in the calories I burned off)

eating back your exercise calories is only counterproductive if you included your exercise when you calculated your calorie goal. if you used MFP's method, they generally expect you to eat back the exercise calories. if you're worried that the calorie burn from weightlifting given by MFP is too high, knock 50 cals off before you save it.
