I have been a member for a while but only logged on now and again, been away for about 8 month or longer and the few friends i had have deleted me :(, cant blame them I was not offering them any support.

I am a stay at home mum for 4 kids and a carer for my elderly father. My father had a severe stroke about 8 months ago which has left him wheelchair bound and house bound, I have just managed to secure him sheltered accommodation and home help, which now gives me a bit more time for me and my family, knowing that he is being looked after. Before my fathers stroke I had a period of about 1 year where I was unwell, doctors couldn't figure it out and believe it was a virus i had contracted, i was put on a long course of antibiotics and gained about 15lbs in weight. I have basically not had the time or energy to focus on myself, but I am now determined to look after myself, lose weight and feel better about myself in general.

A few days ago, someone I had not seen in years made a comment " you are still wee, but not so skinny anymore" I laughed it off by saying "thats what having 4 kids does to you" but my confidence was bashed. I am 5ft and 123lbs, 8st 11, BMI 24 (still in the healthy weight range) but would like to get get to 115lbs, 8st 2, BMI 22. Sorry for babbling but in short I need some friends to help motivate me, I have never really had to diet or watch what I eat so really struggling with it.

Hope there are some ladies or gentlemen on MFP that can keep me on the programme xx

Hey I got your friend request! Thank you for the add :). I can't believe someone would say that! You may be 5ft, but you are still only 123lbs. We can all motivate each other to reach the goals that we want to reach, right? I hope you stick around :). Toning and gaining muscle, thus creating fat loss will make you leaner as well. You could actually stay 123lbs and be very fit still by lowering fat percentage. What workouts do you do right now?
