I've noticed a lot of people log the calories burnt doing daily chores I.e Hoover, cleaning, etc - am I the only one that thinks this shouldn't be logged?!?! I'm on the go none stop all day I would never log that as exercise.. Your thoughts appreciated xx

I don't log it..unless I'm breathing hard, it's not exercise. Some people log brushing teeth...WTF?

If i log every piece of food, then why not all the activity I do.

because existing is already taken into account when logging. it isn't exercise. it just isn't exercise!

I typically don't log housework unless it's more than 30 minutes of consistent movement such as cleaning my carpets or working out in the yard.

I agree with bear kisses, your daily allowance of calories is for doing those daily chores! Surely! If people log them & eat them back I would be shocked if they lost weight.. But hey each to their own!! Good luck on your journey y'all xx

I logged Gardening and thats about it. But that's pretty intense lifting etc since we're levelling the ground and moving the shed, pulling up tree roots etc. And even then I log half the time I've actually been gardening for - just to err on the side of caution!

 I don't usually log them.

But then, I ate a bit too much the other AND I had done 2 hours of very vigerous, non-stop, "I am exhausted" cleaning, so I thought why not log it? It looked better on my diary

A quick whip round with the hoover certainly isn't excercise though.

Ok so now I've seen someone add laughing & chewing gum as exercise & added the calories used doing this to their daily allowance!!! Oh dear!!

I do, through my fitbit counting my steps (when it works)
  • I log mowing the lawn but that is about it for logging chores.
