Heart rate... too high?

I'm working out with a Polar F4 heart rate monitor and just started the Zombies, Run! c25k training program.

A bit of background, I'm still 80 pounds overweight and have asthma so I take my puffer - Ventolin - before running (which I think may raise my heart rate also?).

I'm finding that while I'm in the running, er, jogging phase, my heart rate is over 90% - I even hit 100% last night and I didn't know my hrm WENT to 100! :noway:

I can maintain a 10 minute jog over 90% - it generally sits about 95% is this dangerous? I know they say this isn't the premium level to burn fat at but what is really happening to my body? Am I just asking for the 'big one'?

How do you feel? Do you feel like you're about to keel over?

I have the FT4 too and I was initially using the "factory settings" for my age/weight etc. but it was too low. I manually went in to put in my personal settings and it seems much more realistic for me. The first readings said I was overdoing it, but in reality I just started out with a higher than normal rest HR.

Bottom line, worry more about how your body feels and not the high/low settings on the HRM.

I feel fantastic! I'm so pleased I can jog as much as I can in a row as a beginner. I felt like I was pushing my body more with the 30 Day Shred cardio sections over jogging away from these c25k Zombies.
