calories in my cabernet

So when I looked up cabernet, my brand was not listed, but I found different calories amounts for a 4oz serving ranging from 20 cal, which I find highly unlikely, to over 120 cal, and a wide range of listings inbetween. Anyone have any idea which might be closest to correct, or can the calorie content of cabs range that widely from brand to brand, because that also seems unlikely. Help please:drinker: :blushing:

I've heard that red wine is around 100-110 calories per glass as a general assumption. It's possible some varieties might vary, but if you're estimating go with that. And enjoy! I love my wine :D

CHEERS! And more power to you!
Red wine calories will vary depending not only on the grape but also because of the sugar levels during fermentation. So you can average around 100-110 for a 6oz glass of Cabernet. Go to a Syrah, Zin or Granache and you're at a higher number. Hope this doesn't discourage you! Enjoy and remeber what Thomas Jefferson always said; "Life is too short to drink bad wine!"
    DRINK UP!:drinker:

that's not discouraging at all, thank you!! Actually the wine has less calories than the beer I like, a pale ale or IPA is like 150 to 200 calories, and you know what Ben Franklin said right? "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy" I think this country was founded by a bunch of alcoholics, lol!!

Im also a real ale drinker (preferring my pales :drinker: ) but I'm actually quite surprised that the calories for a pint are as low as 200. I thought it would be massive so I tended not look it up though fear of destroying my indulgence.

but ah well. ITs summer now and time for Cider! It counts at 1 of your five a day, right?
