Good morning everyone,
I wake up very early no matter what is on my agenda for the day. No matter what I do I have 0 appetite until at least lunchtime, most days it's even later. When I do end up eating I have a tendency to want to eat EVERYTHING and end up binging (relatively). I know this is screwing up my metabolism and making me feel guilty in the process. What can I do to develop better eating patterns?
Am I the only one this happens to?
(shoot this should be in the food section)

It's not really a binge to eat 1 large meal instead of 3 small ones if that's what your body usually does. The word "binge" is thrown around pretty loosely around here. A binge is more about what's going on in your head, feeling like you have no control and eating compulsively even though you're not hungry and beyond the point of feeling full.
What you're doing is more akin to intermittent fasting, and some people's bodies just work best that way.
Do you have any evidence that this is hard on your metabolism? Is this a recent habit that has resulted in a stall or weight gain?
You're not the only person who can't even think about food until lunch time, I know a few perfectly healthy people that just cannot stomach the thought of breakfast. Just roll with it. Eat when you're hungry, no big deal. Just make sure you hit your calorie goal for the day (which, yes, would involve a really big lunch).0 -
.. I think you should be looking into Intermittent Fasting. And if that sounds like it doesn't really suit you, I wouldn't worry about it. Eat when ever you want to, it doesn't really matter what time of day it is. (forreal, it doesn't.) If you binge you're obviously letting yourself get too hungry So maybe eat an hour or so earlier than you usually would.0

I used to have this problem too and then just to make myself feel less guilty/better about my eating habits I started forcing myself to eat breakfast. Now when I wake up i'm starving lol but you don't have to eat as soon as you get up, there isn't really anything wrong with waiting until lunch time to eat.0

This. You aren't messing up your metabolism.0 -
You should look into intermittent fasting. I have been doing IF for months, and most days don't eat until at least 1:00, if not later. If anything, my metabolism is more efficient. Of course rather than binging on any/everything you'll want to focus on large calorie, healthy meals, but you might do better with that than the traditional 6 meals a day. You'll still want to stay within your calorie goal, but rather than spreading out your calories, you can have them all during the second half of your day. Check out the IF group :flowerforyou:0

Agreed. I rarely eat before noon.0
