Maybe it'll work this time.

Hey! My name is McKenzie. I'm 18 years old and currently a senior in high school. I'm 5'5 and weigh 166 pounds which is the heaviest I've ever been- usually I hover around 160.
I started to gain weight in eighth grade and went from the high 130s/ low 140s to the 150s and throughout high school I have climbed into the 160s. I really don't know what's up. I don't really eat badly. I'm an iced tea addict (a habit which I have quit in light of my newest attempt to lose weight) so maybe it's excessive sugar that keeps the scale rising? I don't have time to exercise every day and when I do have the time I feel like it's too much work and I just want to watch TV- a mindset I am trying to change.
All through high school I have randomly tried to lose weight. I lost 10 pounds before and was super excited but then lost motivation- like usual- and gained the weight back. That's pretty much the story every time I say I'm going to lose weight.
I'm not so heavy that it's a real "issue". I wear a small/ medium shirt size and 11/12 pants. My problem area is definetely my butt and thighs. My stomach never gets real huge, but right now it's pooching a little like it usually does when I get past 160. My arms can get a little chunky at times too.
I just think losing 20ish pounds and getting back into the low 140s would really increase my confidence level. I'm going into my freshmen year at college and I need all the self confidence I can get. If I can get below 140 that'd be amazing, but for now I'd be happy with that.
My goals are to hit the 150s in May and hopefully be in the upper 140s by my graduation on June 6th. Then low 140s by August when I'm moving into college.
I'm trying a new way of losing weight. Rather then counting calories and stressing myself out I'm just going to eat healthy, drink a lot of water, and do at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. I also joined this website thinking that maybe seeing other people lose weight will inspire me.
I really don't know if I can do it honestly. I just know I always give up.
We'll see.
